Step #1:

Look over the Raiders web site; read the “Information” page from beginning to end.

Step #2:

Understand the following:

Can you play for the Raiders? Players must weigh less than 150 pounds, age 7-15, “C” average or better in school, and reside in Morgan Hill Unified School District Boundaries, South San Jose, San Martin. New Policy 2007 for Gilroy or Hollister residents. Must have prior approval from President of other association to register, or you will be placed on a waiting list. Former Raiders may continue in local program. If player has a grade below a “C”, a signed scholastic eligibility form is required from the school (we will provide to you to give to the school).

Responsibilities: Player must have transportation available for all practices and games and provide certain personal equipment including football shoes with cleats, socks, and athletic supporter. Parents agree to volunteer and assist in the program in some way.

Do you have the time and commitment? August is the month of conditioning and learning-teaching, and is necessarily devoted to Raiders football. By Pop Warner Rules, no conditioning = no play. If you plan to be vacationing in August, Raiders football is not for you!

Step #3:

If you have MS Word or Adobe Reader on your computer, download the four FORMS at the top of this page. If no, find someone who does or write or phone the Raiders requesting Registration Forms. (Address and phone number at end of page)

Step #4:

Make a doctor’s appointment NOW for after January 1st for the required physical exam; fill out the medical form - take the form with you - get it signed at the appointment - send the medical form to the Raiders or give it to your head coach at the team meeting but prior to August 1st. Your child will not be allowed to take the field without proof of this exam! The physical must be current for this year, conducted after January 1st.

Step #5:

 Fill out the Player Registration Paperwork completely (football or cheer same form). Collect a copy of the Birth Certificate, a copy of all semester report cards you have current school year), a head & shoulders photo (no hats, beanies or caps), the completed Medical Form, and the completed Volunteer Form. Registration Fee $200 Football, $150 Cheer, Equipment Deposit Check $350 Football, Volunteer Deposit Check $150. Please write separate checks for each. If you write one check we will deposit the entire amount in order to register your child.

Step #6:

You can mail this information to MHPW, or bring with you to “Walk In” Registration / SignUp If you mail in the information it is recommended that you attend the walk in to verify it was received. Remember it is recommended that your player participant accompany you to the sign up for proper weight verification.

Step #7:

Step #8:

Send a copy of the player’s Spring Semester Report Card to the Raiders in June or give a copy to his head coach prior to the 1st day of Practice August 1st. Note!! This is crucial in order to play Pop Warner Football!!
