Hello MHR Families,
We first want to thank you all for your patience during these unprecedented times. We hope this message finds you all safe and heathy. We have been closely monitoring the CDC guidelines for phasing back into what we all now know as the new norm. Unfortunately, we have received no guidance from Pop Warner and like all of you, we just need an answer.
So what now?
We have met as a Board this week and have made a decision to cancel the 2020 season. This decision does not come lightly but we want to ensure the safety and well-being of all our children. We are the first league in Peninsula Pop Warner (PPW) to cancel their season. We do not know what plan lies ahead for PPW and our County Guidelines.
What if PPW and County Guidelines Open?
If in the scenario that PPW gives any guidance on having a late start 2020 season, we will carefully evaluate the CDC guidelines for our county to be sure that it is the safest decision for our children. We will send out a message if this should happen.
Why did we make this decision?
As you all are aware our world as we know it is in a crisis. While it is feasible to safely host conditioning camps right now under many restrictions, we just couldn’t guarantee we wouldn’t be shut down should a COVID case arise. We didn’t want to impact our families financially just because we are trying to hang on by some hope that things will be back to normal soon.
What are your options?
Option #1: We are offering full refunds (with the exception of the small processing fee that was charged by Sports Engine). Please allow up to 60 days to receive your refund.
Option #2: You can keep your funds with MHR that will be transferred to either a late start of the 2020 season OR the 2021 fall season. This will guarantee your spot and nothing else is needed on your end.
As we are extremely sensitive to our families financials, no money will be spent until we know that a season will 100% be guaranteed.
How to notify us with which Option you wish to choose
Please email Jessica DeSantiago at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Must include the following:
1. Your child’s full name
3. Program (cheer or football)
4. Your name and best method of communication (phone or email)
5. Option Choice (refund or transfer)
A personal message to you from the MHR Board...
We are all saddened by what COVID-19 has caused our world. We truly hope that you or your families have not been impacted by this hateful virus. We will send out an update as soon as we have one. Please stay safe and healthy and don’t hesitate to reach out to us should you have any questions or need further clarification.
We look forward to a healthy and normal season soon!
